Sis Christine As A Guest Speaker At Calvary Care Home

After leading several sessions of the Calvary Care Home (CCH) boys' fellowship, Albert P began to invite guest speakers so that the children would hear other adults' voices instead of his "preaching" all the time. Two weekends ago, Sis Jothy who was already a regular to CCH came to share about honesty. Last Sunday afternoon, Sis Christine had kindly spared her time to drive from Ujong Pasir to Bukit Baru to give a talk on obedience to leadership.

At 4.30pm, the moment Albert asked me if she would really arrive punctually as I had told him, she already appeared at the door with some snacks. As soon as she was seated, she requested all the boys to sit properly as a respect to the leaders.

I had been longing for this scene, especially since the first boys' fellowship in March. I was relieved that Matthew, Paul and David had finally realized that the living room was actually spacious enough for them to stretch their long legs down to the floor while sitting on the chairs, and that there were better places than their feet for them to lay their hands on.

In the middle of her sharing, Sis Christine asked for an umbrella to illustrate God's protection.

She made the metaphor lively by inviting John, Luke and Andrew C to act together. They were as excited as love rivals courting their dream girl.

Sis Christine then called upon Albert. After singing ecstatically in the toilet earlier when Andrew had arrived, the home administrator had to control himself by not grabbing the umbrella from his elder sister in Christ to present the musical "Singin' In The Rain".

Later without any equipment, Sis Christine still managed to attract her audience with her abundant facial expression.

When it came to memorizing Bible verses, I doubt any Calvarite could beat her.

Sis Christine also used two anecdotes with her car to tell us how she had suffered from not obeying the rules. Albert and I who had similar personal experience with our cars could not agree more.

Even though the boys did not have an active participation in discussion, I am sure that they were blessed by Sis Christine's teaching and will recall it as they grow up and have other leaders in their lives.
